    • The Indian Crossword League (IXL) is an individual crossword solving competition based on a round-robin league format. IXL 2014 included 10 weekly online rounds of crossword puzzles, where every week a new leaderboard was formed, comprising top performers of the respective rounds.

The IXL 2014 was launched at National Sports Club of India, Mumbai on the 14th of September 2014.

Shri. U. K Sinha, Chairman SEBI unveiled the IXL 2014 Champion’s Trophy and launched the 1st weekly round. Among the various dignitaries that attended the launch ceremony were Shri. Ramesh Abhishek, (Chairman, Forwards Market Commission), Shri. K K Mishra, (CEO, Tata AIG), Shri. Uday Shankar, (CEO, STAR TV India), Shri. Sanjay Pugalia, (Editor-in-chief, CNBC Awaz & CNBC Bazar), Col. Deepak Gopinath (Retd.), (IXL 2013, Champion) & Vivek Kumar Singh, IAS.

  • 2014: Highlights

    The Indian Crossword League 2014 was a sequel of the Indian Crossword League 2013. After a very exciting journey of the last year’s IXL, Extra C came up with a bigger and better version of Indian Crossword League, the IXL 2014.

    • India’s biggest

      IXL is India’s first and only open crossword-testing platform. The thrust clearly is on popularizing crosswords in India by bringing together crossword buffs from across the country, as well as Indian cruciverbalists internationally on a single platform.

    • Advance Registration

      The registrations for participation began a month before the game was actually launched.

    • Open for NRIs / PIOs

      With the addition of Indians living in foreign countries as well as the new participants from India, the competition just got more exciting and challenging in 2014.

    • 10 Online Rounds

      IXL 2014 was held in round-robin league format. This year the contest had 10 online weekly rounds instead of last year’s 8.

    • Loved by all age groups

      Among those who registered were Indians ranging from 18-80 years of age from all across the globe. The IXL series has received unprecedented love and support from Crossword lovers of the nation and those living outside of India.

    • Grand Finale

      Grand Finale to be held on December 21, 2014. Venue: TERI-SRC Auditorium, 4th Main, 2nd Cross, Domlur II Stage, Bangalore.
